A linking tunnel is a special dead-end cave behind a journey door. A person who walks deep enough into such a linking tunnel is linked to a Bahro cave.
Only a few such tunnels are known, and they are all protected by a journey door. This door can only be opened after activating the seven Journey cloths associated with the door.
It is unknown at this point what causes the linking to occur. While inside a tunnel, Bahro noises can be heard; one likely explanation is therefore that they, in fact, cause the linking — i.e., the tunnel does not have any special properties of its own.
