Myst: The Book of Marrim (BoM) is an unreleased novel of unknown progress and status, and would be the fourth in the series of Myst novels, following Book of Atrus, Book of Ti'ana and Book of D'ni. It is also chronologically the fourth, after BoT, BoA and then BoD.

The character Marrim was introduced in the Book of D'ni; although she was something of a secondary protagonist (the story is seen mainly from her point of view), she is not explored at all in other works of the franchise. Presumably, this novel will focus a lot more on her. Beyond that, very little is known about the novel, and it is not known where it occurs in the timeline.

Apparently, it had originally been scheduled for a release many years ago (presumably between work on Riven and DIRT / Mudpie), but dissatisfaction with the draft script called for a rewrite, which wouldn't happen for a long time, and as of August 2007 still (almost a decade later) has yet to be finished.

With Cyan's limited resources and contractual obligations, it is unlikely that Book of Marrim has particularly high priority at this point, so it may not see the light of day for years to come, if ever.
