Chuck Carter (July 31, 1957) was a Cyan employee designing and producing one half of the graphics for Myst.

Initially, Carter had worked in the fields of newspaper industry, greeting cards, illustration, digital matte painting, special effects, video game arts and teaching. He was an early adopter of 3d software for making digital images and graphics as early as 1987.

He was the first digital artist/illustrator hired by National Geographic back in 1992 to do what was the first illustration done for the magazine on a desktop system. He helped establish National Geographic online back in 1994.

Carter is perhaps best known for his face depiction on the floor mosaic of K'veer.
