Clerical Error, as used by fans, typically refers to an incident on January 2, 2004 (Leevobro 29, 9659), during Uru's Prologue, whereby an Ubisoft Montreal employee accidentally invited everyone who had signed up but not received their invite yet. As thousands tried to log in at a time, server usage for Uru Live surged dramatically, causing ongoing troubles.

To deal with the load, the shard previously used for Rehearsal was renamed Achenar and turned into a third public shard, next to Atrus and Sirrus, thus effectively halting Rehearsal testing.

The event could be considered the final straw to cancellation.
