Why does the translation of the example sentence differ from the definition given? ("about" vs. "nearly") Also, I think blo would be an adverb. It certainly isn't a conjunction in the example sentence. Talashar 19:06, 8 May 2008 (CDT)

For the same reason ahneeteeah sifai is translated as 'get wired', but ahnee (which no way means 'get' as in 'take') is defined as 'become'. Blo has the meaning of 'about' as in 'nearly, almost', while English 'about' also has the meaning of 'concerning'. Since D'ni is not English, I doubt blo would have all the meanings of the English word 'about' so I decided to put a more clear definition. Koena 19:50, 8 May 2008 (CDT)

Edit: In other words, we can say 'blo <number> hahrte' but not 'mees blo Atrus' (I talk "about" Atrus). This would be wrong. I think for such formations tso should be used which is given as 'about' in DLG. Koena 19:54, 8 May 2008 (CDT)

"Almost" and "nearly" mean not as much, but "about" can mean a little more or less. I suggest "approximately" as an unambiguous translation. Gorobay 05:41, 9 May 2008 (CDT)

Yeah, that's what I meant. The "nearly" meaning of about had slipped my mind so I didn't clarify as I should have. The natural reading of takes about three days for me is "takes approximately three days". Talashar 06:54, 9 May 2008 (CDT)
