The Stranger visited Dream while searching Serenia for the abducted Yeesha.
Dream appears to be a non-material parallel world of pure thought. The Serenian Protectors are able to access Dream at will through meditation, and they claim that others can inadvertently visit Dream in a limited manner for brief periods while sleeping, or intentionally as a diversion.
The people of Serenia can transfer their consciousness to memory globes before death (see: Memory chamber.) A living Serenian can then visit Dream and communicate with the stored consciousness of a long-dead ancestor.
Before going to Dream, a traveler must find a Spirit Guide based on their own personality. Without one, the traveler's mind could be permanently damaged, or even destroyed by the physical stress of processing multiple intellects. Yeesha's brother Sirrus died in this manner.
Whether Dream was an Age of the Terokh Jeruth, is not clear.
