[edit] Background

The following section is written from an IC point of view. Events and elements surrounding the Myst Universe are regarded as real.

Echo claims to be a psychic capable of psychometry, which she describes as being able to 'read' the stories of the D'ni from the rock. The stories she tells are focused on the day-to-day life of the D'ni, and include events such as lovers meeting and the birthday party of the oldest D'ni woman. She is friends with J.D. Barnes, who has referred to her as a 'shaman' and a 'mystic'.

She reacts very badly to Bahro, and when Bahro were swarming the Arch of Kerath in November 2007 (Leevofo 9663), she linked in and seemed to have a nervous breakdown. She was talked down by explorers lead by J.D.

[edit] Reaction

Echo has developed a following among Uru fans as an interesting character. She has become the primary example of a well-done fan-run character[1], in contrast to characters like Sydney Austin.
