Eder Tsogal (xogal[?], commonly misspelled Tsogahl or Tsoghal) is a rest Age. It was opened to the public on February 15, 2007 (Leevotar 6, 9662), the second new Age to have been released by the new DRC since they reopened the D'ni Cavern to explorers. Found in some but not all of the neighbourhoods available to the cavern explorers is the linking book to this Age in the common library.

[edit] History
[edit] D'ni History
Possibly written during the reign of King Shomat between 300 DE (7356 BC) and 555 DE (7101 BC) as an expansion to his recently built palace[1], or during so-called D'ni garden binge of the 8100s DE (445 AD). Tsogal offered the D'ni a change of environment from the Cavern and enabled them to walk around in the sun and enjoy lakes and forests and grassy plains. It is unknown what areas of this Age the D'ni would have visited, if any, outside the small canyon the new explorers visit. Traces of the D'ni are seen in the form of a stone terrace, a small stone path, some lantern posts, a fountain and two raised platforms with benches. All D'ni structures on this Age are similar in design to the structures on Eder Kemo.
[edit] DRC History
Not much is known about where the DRC found this book in the cavern and what has been done to explore the Age and ensure its safety to explorers. It was the second new Age to have been released by the new DRC after their return to cavern-restoration.
[edit] Bahro (Journey) History
The Age of Eder Tsogal contains one half of the first new journey for explorers to complete since the path of the shell. Spread across the small canyon of this age are 7 journey cloths, illustrated with a new symbol and linked to a new type of Bahro door. This new type of bahro door reacts to the journey cloths in a unique way, forcing explorers to recruit the aid of fellow explorers in attempting to open it. The Bahro door in this age (when opened) links to a new Bahro cave located in a kind of star fissure and containing a symbol on the wall and a rotating stone ring above the gap, half of which can be taken to the explorer's Relto to indicate the completion of one half of the Second Journey (the other half being in Eder Delin).
[edit] Connections with other Ages
Like Eder Kemo, Eder Delin and Eder Gira, this Age was meant as a Garden Age and possibly written during the Garden Binge of the 8100s DE (445 AD). Eder Tsogal is accessed through several of the neighborhoods in the D'ni Cavern.
[edit] Geography
The area of this Age available to explorers consists of a small grass-covered canyon surrounded on all sides by presumably a huge grassy plain with multicolored trees (orange, red, green and anything in between) scattered throughout. About a mile away there is a big forest surrounding the canyon and beyond that a mountain range can be discerned covering the horizon. The sky above the canyon contains no clouds and one enormous white sun, also floating up there is a small moon. The fact that no day-night cycle has so far been noticed in this Age and the huge sun in the sky mean the Age has to be cooled in some strange way for such a mild climate to exist.
The inside of the canyon is grassy and the canyon walls of a grey, smooth and layered type of rock, similar but not the same as in Eder Kemo. Spread around the canyon are four small ponds, one containing a Maintainer's mark and the larger of them containing a fountain. The lakes are probably fed by ground water since so far no rain or clouds have been seen on this age. The canyon floor is littered with smooth boulders much like the ones in Eder Kemo. In terms of structures, there's a D'ni-built terrace to one side of the cavern with a small stone path leading via stairs off it by some small platforms ending at the lake with the Maintainers' mark on the other end of the canyon. A presumed later addition to the Age are the Bahro journey cloths and a Bahro door in the canyon wall.
[edit] Flora
Aside from the grass and all the pollen flying around, there are small shrubs and cattail plants surrounding the ponds in the canyon and small shrubs growing from the canyon wall. There is also a kind of moss growing over some of the stone surfaces of the D'ni structures. What can be seen of the landscape outside the canyon is that it is probably mostly covered in grass also and that trees cover the landscape, ranging in color from red to green, closer to the canyon scattered about, further away growing in forests. A strange feature of the grass is that is grows in hexagonal patterns. No explanation for this has been found so far.
[edit] Fauna
No animals have been sighted in this age but when walking around in the grass one hears a constant noise of what sounds like grasshoppers, but this may also just be a rustling noise from the grass.
