Garternay (garternA^[?], meaning "Root of the Great Tree" in Ronay and D'ni; derived from garo^[?] ^(gahro) for "great", ter^[?] ^(ter) for "tree" and nA^[?] ^(nay) for "root") was the home Age of the Ronay. Nothing is known about the Age itself, other than what we know about the civilization of the Ronay.

Anna's timepiece had a map branded on its shell. Gehn believed it depicted Garternay however there was no proof to back it up.

The spheres of Ahnonay were said by Kadish to depict the original age of Garternay as it was, is, and will become.

Garternay's sun began to die and decrease in sufficient warmth. Having confirmed this was occurring by 59 BE ^{(7715 BC)}, most of the Ronay fled Gaternay to the Age of Terahnee, while a few splinter groups went to other Ages, one of which was D'ni.
