The 233rd Age was Gehn's first successful attempt at linking to another Age from his exile on Riven. The most prominent geological features of the known parts are giant, mushroom-shaped rock formations.

[edit] Environment

The 233rd Age's weather is obviously windy and harsh. It is evidenced so by the times Gehn enters his office in this Age to meet the Stranger, when he is wearing goggles and some other protective equipment. Also, the shape of the rocks in this Age is speculated by its writer to proceed from an oceanic level lowering, thus exposing the lower parts of such mountains. This then enables us to conclude that the oceans in the 233rd Age were somewhat corrosive.

Water seems to be harsh and for that reason Gehn built a collector on the roof of his office.

What life forms may exist there are unknown, but it has been noted that Gehn goes armed when he leaves his office. From a window, there is a formation that looks like a lizard-like skeleton, but it's not clear if it is indeed a skeleton or only a rock.

[edit] Gehn's space

In this Age Gehn had a less bulky technology to power his books. A Cannen and a maral-obe were the only means that Gehn could entertain himself.

In his personal room, Gehn had his personal journal which also mentions the Stranger's arrival at the Fifth Age "with a supposed linking book back to D'ni", as reported by his minions.

There was also an imager of Gehn's late wife Keta, and pictures of Gehn's father.

Spoiler warning: the following contains details about puzzles, plot, or similar. If you're not familiar with them already, continuing to read may affect your experience.

When the Stranger captured Gehn, he could find a link to the otherwise isolated island of the Riven archipelago (Prison Island)
