Hemelin
From MYSTlore
Hemelin was a King of D'ni from 2193 DE (5463 BC) until his death in 2356 DE (5300 BC).
Hemelin was the uncle of his immediate predecessor Behnashiren and a former Guild Master of the Guild of Healers. He made it a personal mission to find a cure for the plague that was killing D'ni and restore the good name of the Guild of Healers. He was considered a very effective king, in contrast to his nephew.
Hemelin was a supporter of the worship of Yahvo and argued that only Yahvo could save D'ni from the plague.
[edit] Curing the Plague
Hemelin felt that the answer to the plague were in the Books of Old, which he could now allow access to as the king. In 2255 DE (5401 BC), Hemelin himself fell sick to the plague, only to be nursed to health by Lalen.
Lalen, having access to the Books of Old by her relationship with the king, found hints to where other of these books could be found, in 2257 DE (5399 BC). This led to the discovery of the Book of Birenni, which lead to a cure. By 2262 DE (5394 BC), the Guild of Healers considered the plague cured, and on the same day Hemelin married Lalen.
[edit] Successor
Hemelin named Naygen, the first child born after the end of the plague, as his successor as a symbolic gesture.
