Inception was Atrus's first Age, a green world of forests, rivers, and mountains, with a replica of the Cleft at the link-in point. Gehn didn't consider it worthy of a name (or a number), but marked the occasion with a Korfah V'ja ceremony. Later, in an argument with Atrus, he made several changes to the book, deleting and simplifying phrases, despite Atrus's protests.
