Ishek was a King of D'ni from 4083 DE (3573 BC) until his death in 4291 DE (3365 BC). He was a popular king, concerned with the common people of D'ni and the treatment of ahrotahntee.

In 4103 DE (3553 BC), during a tour of the Age Yimas, natives took Ishek's wife captive and escaped using Linking Books. The Yimas responsible demanded Ages of their own, some of which were actually impossible for the D'ni to write, or they would kill Ishek's wife. Ishek believed that the Yimas were being manipulated by D'ni factions, just as the Pento had been millennia ago. He ordered the Relyimah to investigate a suspicious faction (either the Blood of Yahvo or Light of D'ni), leading to the rescue of his wife.

Ishek left the throne to his eldest son, Loshemanesh.
