The KI number is an identification number unique to an explorer on a particular shard. Currently eight digits long, it can be used as a shortcut to refer to someone else, such as in order to add them to one's buddy list.

In a multi-shard setup, such as Prologue or Untìl Uru, explorers have to register, remember and exchange KI numbers for every single shard they participate on, because one shard's KI number will likely refer to an entirely different person on another shard.

[edit] Finding your number

In the KI interface, the KI number will be prominently displayed in the bottom left.

In addition, if you made a photo of your explorer in Avatar Customization, the file name (in a path such as C:\Documents and Settings\[user account]\My Documents\Uru Live\Avatars\[KI number].jpg) reveals the KI number.
