Launched in September/October 2006, MYSTlore is a Wiki hoping to cover topics concerning Myst, D'ni and Uru in ever-growing depth and breadth.
We believe MYSTlore can be a useful resource in learning about all the bigger and smaller aspects of the Myst Universe, many of which simply cannot easily researched through a simply web search engine query; more often than not, tidbits are hidden within obscure forum posts or archived mailing list messages.
Other sites with similar purposes exist: the D'ni Desk Reference [1] and D'niPedia / Writers Ring [2], the library section at the Guild of Greeters, or MystWiki, to name just a few. We do not wish to "compete" or "clash" with those; rather, just like them, we want to make the web a more friendly and resourceful place for fans and non-fans curious about delving a little deeper into Myst than just looking at the pretty pictures in Riven (and yes, we know they're pretty!). We also don't want to get in the way of Wikipedia's many Myst-related articles; in fact, some of them were written by us in the past. Rather, we feel that having a Wiki all by ourselves gives us more room to breathe, and the amount of space the vast universe of Myst and D'ni deserves.
We hope you'll find this place as useful as intended, and that you'll have as much fun browsing around (and perhaps contributing yourself?) as we've had writing the articles!
