From MYSTlore
This is a weekly run-down of the most interesting and noteworthy changes that occurred on MYSTlore over the past 7 days. It is, in essence, a Best of Recent changes, combined with some personal commentary. Please note that it reflects the opinion of the author, not that of the administrators or all users as a whole.

[edit] 45th week of 2006
[edit] What has been done
- Last week saw MYSTlore being announced on MYSTcommunity [1] as well as on The Lysts — the first public mention, although it had previously been quietly linked to on various occasions. Statistics went way up within the next few days, from 12 to currently 27 registered users (plus some anonymous users starting to frequently contribute), and an increase of legitimate content pages of over a hundred, to currently 289. Evidently, initial interest is there.
- Many new articles have been written, and many stubs been expanded upon. Speaking of stubs, one of the cleverest contributions of the week was Shoom'lah's MYSTlore:Stubs — an explanation that is both funny as well as easily understandable even for less experienced users.
- The Official product template, at last, no longer links to any wanted, unwritten pages — meaning that while some are still a little 'stubby', we finally have pages for almost all of the products in the entire universe, err, well, the Myst universe at least. It has also been rewritten for a much simpler and more flexible syntax, in preparation for a new (tiny) feature yet to come.
- Likewise, all of Yeesha's ancestors finally have their own page.
- Many images have been added to articles. Many additional articles have been tagged as in need of an image. A working with images how-to has been posted.
- A guide to MYSTlore:-namespace pages has been created — which should give visitors and contributors alike a convenient run-down of what MYSTlore is, what it strives to become, and what it's not and never will be.
- Template:Guilds has been created, though most articles about guilds are yet to be written.
- We have a new longest page: a complete transcript of Saavedro's Journal, including pictures of the cover and sketches inside.
- 289 legitimate content pages also means we're 28.9% towards making it to MediaWiki's largest site list, requiring us to reach a thousand.
- As suggested by Renoah, we now have IPA characters (and a few other convenient ones) readily available on the editing screen, making describing pronunciations of D'ni (and other foreign) words a lot easier.
- Relatedly, we have an extension of our own allowing you to input and view D'ni text easily!
- Based on and heavily customized from Meta-Wiki's Simple IRC RC Bot example, we now have an IRC bot who announces recent changes to MYSTlore. It also does various other things, some of which we'd rather it didn't :-) , but it has proven very useful in tracking changes more quickly than even RSS could do it. The bot resides on Tay's relatively new #MYSTchat.
[edit] What ought to be done
- Despite many new articles having been created, and a few duplicates merged, the wanted pages list has actually grown from about 250 to currently 327.
- Some of the currently 117 stubs are rather surprising, with articles about such important (and worth writing about) topics as Cyan and Riven in there.
[edit] Conclusion
A lot of stuff! A great first public week. Many thanks for those who had been with us before that, building an excellent foundation that newer users are evidently making great use of.
