Meanas was an Age that was known for its production of mining machinery.
In 4954 DE (2702 BC), an explosion occurred on the Age killing 400 outsiders and 78 D'ni. Although apparently a result of a combination of D'ni and Meanas gases, the explosion was caused by members of the cult known as One D'ni.
Two members of the cult were found guilty of having caused the explosion in 5093 DE (2563 BC) and were permanently imprisoned.
