Myst: The Motion Picture puzzle/Vahgahbree (7)
From MYSTlore
On January 6, a new image named vahgahbree appeared. Curiously, the slogan did not change this time. A new code appeared in the source:
| “ | .ahneeteeah sifai .hoorah cipher .baikhah poly-wiki
heebor.heebor.fahseeheegahtor.breeseefah.heebor.rigahsehn.'.heebor.fahseeheegahbree fahseevahgahsehn.rigahsehn.naygahfah.fahseeheegahtor.fahseevahgahtor.fahseeheegahbree rigahsehn.naygahfah.rigahsehn.heebor.fahseeheegahbree.'.fahseevahgahbree fahseeheegahtor.heebor.heebor.fahseevahgahsehn.rigahsehn.heebor.fahsee fahseevahgahfah.rigahtor.naygahtor.fahseevahgahfah.rigahtor.fahseeheegahbree fahseeheegahtor rigahsehn.heebor.fahseevahgahbree.fahseeheegahbree.fahseevahgahtor.rigahbree fahseeheegahtor.heebor.fahseevahgahsehn.rigahsehn.heebor.fahsee fahseevahgahsehn.rigahtor.fahseevahgahsehn.rigahsehn.naygahfah.rigahsehn fahseeheegahsehn.fahseevahgahtor fahseeheegahtor.fahseevahgahtor.fahseevahgahsehn.rigahsehn.naygahfah fahseeheegahtor.fahseevahgahfah.heebor.fahseeheegahbree.rigahsehn naygahfah.naygahbree.'.naygahbree | „ |
The code translates to: "Get Wired. Find Cipher. Link poly-wiki" and then a new series of numbers: 15.15.44.51.15.23.'.15.42 33.23.11.44.34.42.23.11.23.15.42.'.32 44.15.15.33.23.15.25 31.24.14.31.24.42. 44.23.15.32.42.34.22 44.15.33.23.15.25 33.24.33.23.11.23.43.34 44.34.33.23.11.44.31.15.42.23.11.12.'.12
The numbers were no longer between 1 and 26, so it was evident that a new cipher was used to encrypt the message. The Get Wired. clue referred to Wired, a magazine that has feature in-depth articles on Cyan over the years. An article was found that referenced the Polybius square (Wikipedia)[1], and such a square featured on Wikipedia was used to decipher the message.
Once deciphered and reversed, a new D'ni message was revealed: ".re'hevtee m'rehahrotahn kehneet rildil gormeht .kehnet oshahnin b'bahreltahnot" which translates to "The words of the other [or outsider] are nothing now. We are lost to our Maker."[2]
