The Myst Island Recreation Initiative (MIRI) is a fan project (suspended at this point) with the ultimate goal of terraforming (Wikipedia) a real-world island on Earth to vaguely resemble Myst Island. The island would then be built on to also create similar buildings, such as a Myst Library. Other ideas include making multiple Ages or a Myst theme park.
At this point, no such island has been picked. In addition to costs and other required resources likely turning out to be astronomical, there could also be legal issues to deal with. Problems in recruiting members have halted progress during the design phase.
The website hosts unrelated projects, including the Narayani Collective.
