[edit] Pods

A pod (D'ni: ziK[?]) is a spherical building that protects visitors from potentially harmful pod exteriors.

Generally, pods have two main floors, as well as two upper 'balconies'. These are all accessible by ladders. The upper balconies each have a window. The middle has a single large window with a button that activates an external light. The lower floor has two smaller windows, each with buttons that activate external lights as well. Additionally, the lower floor contains four buttons which seem to turn on sound loops of local fauna, a power switch, and a linking book to Nexus.

The observation pod in Todelmer is designed differently, with an upper balcony that goes around the enitre pod and many more windows.

[edit] Todelmer

Main article: Todelmer

The observatory age of Todelmer has an observation pod orbiting around the ringed planet in this age.

[edit] Unnamed Pod Age

This pod age is an unnamed age accessible from books found in the Museum in Ae'gura. These books are referred to by the continent or area that the book links to in the pod age (i.e. the Negilahn book).

Initially, it was not known that these books linked to the same age. Rather, it was assumed they all linked to different ages. With the discovery of the pod map, it was determined that all of the pods were in the same age. However, explorers still refer to the different pods as pod ages.

Some explorers refer to this age as a whole as reziksehv (which is an unattested D'ni compound meaning "the pod age") or, more commonly, as the pod age.

The pods in this age are numbered 1 through 25. Only thirteen are shown on the pod map, however

Four are currently accessible:

[edit] Non-Canon

The following section is written from an OOC point of view. Events and elements surrounding the Myst Universe are regarded as fictional.

In concept sketches and information found in game files of Prologue, Todelmer was identified as a pod age. However, it was repurposed to be a part of Myst V.

As there is an observational pod similar to the ones found in the the other pod age, it is still considered to be a pod age.

Also, found in game files from Prologue was a document describing the wildlife of Negilahn. However, Cyan has stated that the document is not canon, as Negilahn has been redesigned since Prologue.

Pod is also a file prefix in Uru.
