Native to the Age of Edanna, it is rather unclear whether one should treat the quaffler fig as a single organism or as a series of plants.
The system is comprised of several veined, translucent pods scattered throughout the age- each one connected to the next by way of thick vines- alongside a series of shallow collecting basins. These basins fill with water, which can then be sucked from pod to pod by way of the vines. The pods are emptied upon being exposed to extreme heat, which then deposits the water into a designated basin along with whatever may have been swimming in it. Seeing how electra rays are known to reside in these basins, it is not unusual to find them circling and feeding in the small pools.
Quaffler figs are also in a symbiotic relationship with corkscrew cattails, which draw from the fig’s basins for their water supply.
