The above was the narration of the realMyst trailer video, which was released in 2000. It was spoken by Rengin Altay. Obviously the speaker is supposed to be a woman describing the process of Writing and linking to an age.
The identity of the speaker is a problem since the actress has voiced both Catherine (Riven) and mature Yeesha (Uru), so these words could have been spoken by either of them. The emotional tone reminds rather Yeesha's manner of speaking. However Yeesha had little to do with Myst Island and Catherine would be more appropriate as the narrator. Furthermore, the narration makes some hints at visions and dreams which point to Catherine (who had prophetic powers) and made dream-like ages.
