Shama was a D'ni woman who became the wife of King Ti'amel and the mother of King Kedri.

She married Ti'amel in 3477 DE (4179 BC) and stayed with him despite his well-known philandering. As Ti'amel was not particularly concerned with governing his people, Shama held much of the actual power. In the 3500s DE there was a movement to allow women to join Major Guilds, which Shama opposed, arguing that women should focus on the raising of children.

Shama had a son and a daughter with Ti'amel. She raised the son, Kedri, with the determination to make him a different sort of man from his father. Indeed, when he became king Kedri would be generally viewed as a much better ruler than Ti'amel, which was attributed to his upbringing by Shama. She died in 3689 DE (3967 BC), a few decades after Kedri's coronation.
