The first speech is from the Mac version, the second from the Windows version of the game.
Spoiler warning: the following contains details about puzzles, plot, or similar. If you're not familiar with them already, continuing to read may affect your experience.
This speech is actually a hint, and describes Atrus's preparation to rescue Catherine from Riven. Sirrus then leaves a message to Achenar to rip a page from his Myst linking book; that way it would be dysfunctional and Atrus would have no means to link back to Myst, and stay trapped to K'veer.
