Something Else

Something Else is a term apparently originally coined by RAWA in response to fan questions on what Cyan Worlds is working on. When first used — while the Uru expansion packs were being fleshed out — , it likely referred to the project with the codename Sasquatch, which resulted in Myst V: End of Ages. Later on during development of that, it probably meant Latus. In other words, Something Else is the project beyond the one the Cyan is publicly known to focus on, causing Bill Slease at Cyan to call it a Dread Pirate Roberts project[1]. At times when two unknown projects have been in development at the same time, the second one has sometimes been called Something other than else.
For budgetary and conceptual reasons, Cyan currently is believed to have no such project; they are instead probably focusing entirely on the re-attempt of Uru Live.
