This article refers to the 1993 (Mac) and 1994 (Windows) original releases of Myst only. Use Support:Myst Masterpiece Edition and Support:realMyst if you have one of those later re-releases. The Ages of Myst bundle uses the original version of Myst, whereas all later bundles (Myst Trilogy, 10th Anniversary Edition and Ultimate Compilation) use Myst Masterpiece Edition.

Processor: Motorola 68020, 16 MHz
Operating System: Mac OS 7.0.1 or greater
Hard Drive Space: 3 MB
RAM: 4 MB
CD-ROM: 1x
Graphics: 256 Colors
[edit] 68k and PowerPC Macs, Mac OS 9 and older
Myst should run natively. There have been reports of it not working on Mac OS 9, but this is unverified.
[edit] PowerPC Macs, Mac OS X
Myst will require Support:Classic, as it is not a Support:Carbonized app. This method has not been tested. Please report successes or failures in the talk page.
[edit] Intel Macs
Intel-based Macs do not support Classic; therefore, Myst will not run on its own. Here are some alternatives:
- Support:SheepShaver will enable a complete installation of Mac OS Classic, and should be able to run Myst as well. This method has not been tested. Please report successes or failures in the talk page.
- If you have the Windows version of Myst as well, Support:Parallels will let you run it.
- If you have the Windows version of Myst as well, Support:Boot Camp will let you run it.
