[edit] Ti'ana or Anna?
Since the Catherine/Katran article was renamed (see the discussion page there for more info), maybe this one should be "Anna" instead of "Ti'ana" too? 84.217.137.110 09:13, 22 November 2006 (CST)

[edit] The Fall
I still don't understand why Anna is blamed so often for the Fall. I mean, she interfered with Veovis' sentence, but that alone doesn't make her responsible for the entire Fall. The oddest thing, in my opinion, is the fact that the "order of blame" is usually 1. Anna - 2. Veovis - 3. A'gaeris, while I think A'gaeris is the one who ultimately brought upon the Fall, by his manipulation of Aitrus and Veovis, and obviously breaking Veovis out of prison twice. What do you think about this? --D'nara 13:25, 10 January 2007 (CST)
- The main reason is the prevalent xenophobia among D'ni people. Those in favor of anti-"surface dweller" legislation felt confirmed when, shortly after Anna's appearance, D'ni fell. Of course, the real reasons for the fall are far more complex than that, and the suggestion that a single person could cause this is laughable. (It's equally silly to claim that A'gaeris and Veovis alone caused this.) The civilization fell not because someone drilled a hole to the surface, or because the ventilation system was abused to spread a virus. It fell because, as Yeesha would put it, D'ni "grew too pride". They were so stuck in their ways and so convinced in superiority over "ahrotahntee" that they did not for a moment explore the possibility of progression.

- Hmm... These things are exactly what I don't understand... A'gaeris and Veovis DID cause the Fall. I mean, they gassed thousands of people! Obviously, Veovis' anger and hatred was caused by Anna's arrival, but A'gaeris was already planning to destroy D'ni. Wouldn't he have accomplished that without Anna ever coming to D'ni? Don't misunderstand me, I'm open to other ideas and opinions, but I just don't understand this. --D'nara 14:21, 11 January 2007 (CST)
- They caused the death of a large amount of the population, yes. Arguably, they pretty much committed genocide. It's also possible that A'gaeris may have succeeded even without Veovis's help, and perhaps without Anna having ever appeared. None of that, however, has any bearing on the social and political dismay D'ni had been in; a prevalent state everyone tried to sweep under the rug.
- Again, same thing for Rome. Sure, Germanic tribes attacked Roman soldiers and killed large amounts of the population. But regardless of that, Rome had been in political disarray, and would have collapsed anyway.
- Look at it this way: if it hadn't been for D'ni's internal problems, they would have recognized an evildoer like A'gaeris for who and what they are, and would have been able to protect themselves easily, rather than concerning themselves with trivialities like whether Anna ought to be welcome in D'ni or not. [edit] Anna's parents
Since we have an article about Yeesha's daughter, should we begin articles such as Anna's father and Anna's mother? Although we don't know their names, we know more about their lives than of other minor D'ni characters. Koena 02:06, 11 August 2007 (CDT)
- Sure. Chucker 05:53, 11 August 2007 (CDT)
