Talk:Katran
From MYSTlore
I'm not sure what the definition of appearing in a game is. For the moment I put in all the games where she has a speaking role, even though she is mentioned in every game. Would it be better to list all the games? — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Talashar (talk • contribs) 01:57, 20 September 2006. Please sign your comments!
- Yeah, I realized this. I suppose "featured in" instead of "appearing in" would be better. The definition is, as far as I'm concerned, that the character/Age/thing plays a role, no matter however minor. Chucker 22:36, 19 September 2006 (CDT)
- Or maybe just "mentioned in". Chucker 23:40, 19 September 2006 (CDT)
[edit] Katran or Catherine?
Would it perhaps be more appropriate to name this article "Katran" rather than Catherine? In an IC point of view, I think Katran is better since that is her actual name, but in an OOC pov Catherine might be better since that's what she is most often called in the games. But Mystlore is supposed to be mainly IC, right? 84.217.137.110 13:14, 19 November 2006 (CST)
- I agree about naming it Katran, and yes, the main namespace of MYSTlore is, by default (i.e. unless specified otherwise), intended to be IC. Go ahead. Chucker 15:04, 19 November 2006 (CST)
- I titled the article "Catherine" because that seems to have been the name she used the most for the larger portion of her life, but it doesn't really matter, I think. Both are equally valid. Talashar 18:42, 19 November 2006 (CST)
- I second "Katran," simply because I've always considered "Catherine" to be an affectionate nickname- even if she appropriates it and starts using it herself during her later years. Shoomlah 10:34, 20 November 2006 (CST)
- Plus, there's always a chance that her calling herself "Catherine" is, ding ding, artistic license ;-) to make it easier to understand for the casual player. Chucker 15:56, 20 November 2006 (CST)
[edit] Name choosing
Do we know if an important person of the Millers' life is called Catherine? Koena 03:04, 1 August 2007 (CDT)
- Um, I've not heard of anything like that. Blade Lakem 09:42, 1 August 2007 (CDT)
[edit] linking stones
what do we know about the stones the Moiety put in the linking panels? Are they called Linking Stones or is it a fanon name? Shouldn't we mention that she was their inventor? Don't they deserve an article on their own? Koena 05:51, 7 January 2008 (CST)
- In her journal it is called the book-window substance. It should have an article. Gorobay 05:58, 7 January 2008 (CST)
