Talk:Regeltavok Oorpah
From MYSTlore
This title can't be right, it translates to "the writings of of Oorpah". I think the correct title would be just 'Regeltavok Oorpah': "the writings of Oorpah". Marein 08:45, 5 July 2007 (CDT)
- The DRC notebooks refer to it as Regeltavok of Oorpah, which seems like a misunderstanding similar to the one that calls the Judges of Yahvo the RegolantantEok, badly transliterated D'ni for "the judges of". I'd agree that the article should be at Regeltavok Oorpah (which is what Yeesha, a native speaker, calls it in the journal on Relto). Talashar 12:54, 5 July 2007 (CDT)
Is it -ok or -okh? This article says -ok, but this constructions seems to be -okh in all other words... --Obdormio 06:53, 7 March 2008 (CST)
- It is probably "-okh". The reason the title is not "Regeltahvokh Oorpah" is because the DRC notebooks call it the Regeltavok of Oorpah, and Yeesha spells it as "Regeltavok Oorpah", and so we have assumed she knows what she's talking about. (Personally I think she's wrong but there is no proof.) Gorobay 14:18, 7 March 2008 (CST)
- There are a lot of D'ni names and words in general usage which are not correct transliteration (Atrus,Uru,Kadish, etc. I know RAWA at one point said taht names were sometimes changed in PR text to 'look better'. So I expect there will always be variations. I'm happy with this one, as it is the spelling that appears in canon. We can specifiy the D'ni spelling if we want, as well.
