[edit] OOC

This page is too OOC. The mentions of Exile and End of Ages need to be extracted into a section. Chucker 12:39, 16 December 2006 (CST)

I'm sorry, I don't quite follow you. --D'nara 13:07, 16 December 2006 (CST)
Heh, okay. I did it myself. Basically, most articles in MYSTlore should try and have an IC (in character / in cavern) perspective on everything, acting as if the events and items are actually real. This also requires that the Myst games don't exist, since to suggest that it's "all just a game" would make it OOC (out of character / out of cavern). So, mentions of the games (i.e., of where one actually gets to see the Age of Releeshahn) should be split into their own section, so the main part of the article avoids it, and so there can be a warning above the section:
The following section is written from an OOC point of view. Events and elements surrounding the Myst Universe are regarded as fictional.
Hope that's clearer. :-) Chucker 13:22, 16 December 2006 (CST)
Thanks, that clears it up :) --D'nara 15:24, 16 December 2006 (CST)
Actually, saying that the games are just games can be IC if you also say that they are based off real events. In the canon, Cyan made the Myst games, and they are just games, but the D'ni and the DRC and Atrus, etc., really exist(ed). 141.154.251.157 09:14, 8 August 2007 (CDT)
OOC and IC usually refer to "In Character" here, not Canonicity, therefore any mention of the games themselves falls under the OOC category. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by XeresRazor (talkcontribs) 16:09, 8 August 2007. Please sign your comments!
