The Archiver is a monthly fan-run web magazine operating under the flag of The Cavern Today. It covers Uru community news and events, and also publishes creative works, such as the Pursuit into Majesty serial and selections from the 14th Annual Truly Horrilble Ahnohnay Poetry Contest.
The Archiver was launched in March 2006 as a seven page newsletter by current Editor-in-Chief Alahmnat, and continued for a second instalment before publication was halted. The project was again resumed in February of 2007 with a larger team, and has since continued on a more or less monthly basis, even throughout the 2008 closure of the cavern.
Alahmnat is the publication's Editor-in-Chief, with Narym acting as Editor.

[edit] Style
The Archiver has always aimed to have a journalistic style, with news-style coverage of in-game events, particularly the episodic instalments of Myst Online: Uru Live. It also publishes opinion pieces, as well as interviews with community figures and groups, with the regular Guildhall feature focusing specifically on a different community 'guild' each issue. More recently, it has included interviews with other Myst-related figures, for example the Mysteriacs Patrick McIntire and Adrian Vanderbosch.
The magazine also has a strong visual element, with screenshots taken directly from Uru making up the majority of art used. However, real world pictures, such as shots from Mysterium 2007, are sometimes used, albeit rarely.
The Archiver is assembled using Apple's Pages 2.0 software, and is exported in PDF format.
[edit] Staffing
While the staffing fluctuates fairly frequently, there are usually a great many countries represented in its ranks. Some of these include Australia, Belgium, England, Holland and the USA.
The publication also has a significant number of freelance contributors, who themselves are not a part of TCT or The Archiver's actual staff, but who contribute on a purely issue-by-issue basis.
[edit] Translations
In its earlier incarnations, The Archiver was published in French and German, as well as in its native English. After the restart at Issue 3, the translations were no longer in place. German translations recommenced briefly at Issue 6, but then soon after stopped once again due to the growing size of the publication, and the resulting difficulties in translations. Currently, The Archiver is published solely in English.
