Gobo Fraggle bought a SCSI CD-ROM drive for his Mac LCIII just to play Myst. The solitary nature of the game didn't immediately lead him to think of joining a fan community so he missed the rise and fall of RivenGuild. He shortly thereafter wandered into MystCommunity since it was the top hit on the search engine (Altavista IIRC) for the word Mudpie, a proposed social Myst game. He got broadband just to play Uru (which he still calls Mudpie, sometimes) and the very first thing he saw upon going online with his new connection was news of Uru's cancellation (true story). Although, he was also days away from buying a Windows PC to go with it and said cancellation averted that fate(thank goodness).
