[edit] Editing Etiquette

Koena, could you please try to review your submissions more carefully before submitting? Use the preview button, read over what you've added for proper spelling/grammar, and make sure you've added everything you plan to. You've been editing things multiple times in a row. Sometimes that's fine, but you seem to do it excessively and more than you need to. You wouldn't need to if you would take time to review your edits before submitting. I do appreciate all you've contributed, it's just the flooding of mediocre edits that is less than desirable. Thanks! -- Tay 19:02, 2 August 2007 (CDT)

Gather all your source materials, use the preview button, and author your entries in one pass as completely as you can. Those of us who have to monitor changes to the wiki do not appreciate and extra flood of tiny changes to the same article as it makes our jobs harder. Please folow these guidelines so we do not have to force all your edits to be reviewed before submission.
Agreed. Please do not submit a page multiple times, the Recent Changes list is a mess of edits that could be prevented. If it is absolutely necessary to make a small change, please use the minor edit feature to prevent wikispam. Please see MYSTlore:Wikiquette and follow the guidelines. [edit] Minor edits

Hallo... Thanks for the advice... however I tried to do what you say (checked the minor edit box), but my edit still appeared in the Recent changes. Koena 03:01, 6 August 2007 (CDT)

Yes, it will still appear there, however it helps those of use that maintain the site with the administrative functions such as the Patrol interface. XeresRazor 03:02, 6 August 2007 (CDT)
Then I will definitely use it since I really can't avoid some of my repetitious self-corrections. Very useful to know, which I didn't. Koena 03:27, 6 August 2007 (CDT)
You can avoid your repetitious self-corrections, enter your changes, hit the "show preview" button instead of the submit button, review your change to verify it's complete and there are no mistakes, and only then submit the page. If you notice any errors in your edit feel free to correct them and preview again until everything is correct. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by XeresRazor (talkcontribs) 09:40, 6 August 2007. It'll appear with a bold "m" next to it, which makes it a lot easier to distinguish minor and major edits for patrollers. Chucker 04:22, 6 August 2007 (CDT)

[edit] Plant template

When there is only one age, please use the age parameter rather than the ages parameter. Also, please don't use this template when there isn't a picture, like you did with Great Tree (Riven). Either don't have the template or upload a picture. Another thing: you don't need to use the name parameter if the name of the plant (or creature or age or place, for the other ones) is the same as the name of the article. E.g., a quaffler fig is a quaffler fig, so in its article you can let the infobox's title default to "Quaffler Fig" rather than defining that as a parameter. Did you read the documentation for this template? 141.154.122.246 09:42, 27 December 2007 (CST)
