Vault wipe

In pre-release of Uru Live, a vault wipe is a complete reset of server-side information, most notably avatars, their IDs and settings and their progress. After a vault wipe, everyone will have to start from scratch, create a new avatar, customize it again and start exploring anew.
This technique is sometimes used when introducing newer pre-releases of the Uru Live client, especially to verify that in a fresh setting, previous bugs no longer occur, and also that no regressions (previously fixed bugs having returned) happen.
A vault wipe was scheduled for the launch of Myst Online: Uru Live; that is, pre-release testers did not get to transfer their progress; both testers and new subscribers therefore started at the exact same point.
